Pooladkaf and Dizin, Two Most Famous Ski Resorts in Iran!
Iran has two most wonderful and last longing ski resorts in the world: Dizin Ski Resort and Sepidan (Pooladkaf) ski resort.
Dizin Ski Resort, situated in the Alborz mountain range in the north of Tehran (only 43 miles away), is one of the 40 highest ski resorts in the world and the largest one in Iran, which was established in 1969 under the reign of the Shah of Iran. For its capabilities, Dizin gained its official title by the International Ski Federation. There are three telecabins, two ski-lifts, seven dish tele-skis and one hammer tele-ski in the resort. Besides, amenities include 2 hotels, 19 cottages, 5 restaurants, beautiful and comfortable villas and private apartments around the Dizin ski resort accommodate thousands of people every year. While you can breathe fresh air and be in a spectacular nature, you can have an ideal ski vacation in such a place where the ski season is longer than the European ski resorts according to its high altitude and climatological condition. The ski season normally begins in November and typically runs through the end of May. In addition, it should be mentioned that the lowest point of the region is 2650m, while its highest point is 3600m,which is equal to 11800 feet above the sea level. What is really interesting about the region is that the activities in Dizin complex are not confined to winter season. There are many other spring, summer and fall activities and facilities such as tennis courts, volleyball grounds, paint ball area, an important grass-ski center, a park for children, mountain climbing and mountain biking.
Sepidan (Pooladkaf), the second international ski resort in Iran, is situated in a distance of 80 km from Shiraz and it is the most southern ski resort in Iran and Middle East. The resort, with the elevation of 2850 m and the peak of 3400 m, was established in 2002. Due to considerable precipitation of the region, the length of the ski season differs. This season in Pooladkaf usually stars from December and lasts until late March and sometimes this period extends to early April. Sepidan Ski Resort facilities contain telecabin, chairlift and aerial lift, ski and snowboard rental center, snowmobiles and ATVs, riding bikes and horses, cafe shop, 24 hour taxi service, restaurant and fast food, a gondola lift with the length of 2100 m and also surface lifts. The last but not least interesting point about this ski resort is the strong sunshine even in January.
